how important?
well i got a used spindle to fix my truck from a buddy but i think that it was a tad longer than the other one because once i got it all together and was putting the gears in for the hub the axle will no longer come out enough to put the clip ring on it. how im portant is this and will it affect my 4x4 i plan on taking it all apart AGAIN and getting the tube cut shorter so that the axle will stick out far enough any advice thnaks:-X23

how important?
What year and model is your truck, and the truck the donor spindle came from? The axle does slide in and out a little in the housing, sometomes you have to pull the axle out to get the clip on.

its a 1973 f-250 3/4 not sure what truck was the spindle came from i was just glad to get it was hard to find i have pulled on the axle to make it come out in moves in and out but not far enough any more to put the clip ring on i know the inner gear rests on the spindle tube so i fig that i was to long we matched them up b4 i bought it from him and they looked identical over all length and everything not sure why it isnt working thanks
