Coming home from work today, I saw a 1991 Explorer 4x4 for sale.
It's a 4 door, 4.0L with 5 speed. The tranny was rebuilt 11/04. The car has 245000 miles! It is rusted through in spots and says a/c doesnt work and exhaust needs fixed. They are asking $1800, which seems over priced for the mileage. I stopped and looked at it as a possible candidate for an engine/trans/axle swap into my 88 Bronco II, but $1800 is way more than I would give them. Maybe $800 but not $1800, what do you guys think?
Shiny
I would say about $500. I just sold a 1992 Explorer XLT 4.0 4x4 for $800. It had 150,000 miles and the tranny just rebuilt. Rusted through in a lot of spots. Nothing needed to be fixed however. 1800 is outrageous. Just check ebay for current prices....
