Tapping Noise
I Have A 2001 Ford Ranger There Is A Tapping Noise Coming From The Backside Of The Motor It Is Coming From A Round Black Box Sitting On Top Of The Motor With A Wire Plugged Into It.what Is This Round Box And Could It Be Making A Tapping Noise.

Its Sits At The Back Of The Engine On The Passenger Side Right Next To The Transmisson Dip Stick I Think It Is Some Type Of Sensor It Is Round In Shape And Has An Electrial Fitting I Think It Is Mounted On The Motor But Is Hard To See Because It Is Close To The Fire Wall
