Difference between early '99 and late '99 powerstrokes?

Difference between early '99 and late '99 powerstrokes?
I'm hoping to be able to get a Super Duty with a powerstroke in the next year or so, and given cost considerations I'll probably be looking at '99s and '00s. I've noticed in the diesel parts in catalogs that some parts specify that they are for an "early" or "late" '99 Powerstroke, but others do not. What was the difference?
