brake problem

I replaced brake rotors and pads on my 98 f-250 LD, also a anti-lock brake sensor on the driver's side front. I was experiencing heavy "chattering" when I would brake, and my antilock brake light would come on. Unsure as to how to correctly align the brakes for the new cable, I took it to a private mechanic who wants to replace the hub bearings, based on his diagnostics, but he didn't say anything about re-aligning it. Is his approach valid, and how much should I expect this to cost?

Thanks!
