96 valve covers

my 95 f-150 has a small 8 with 200,000 on it. It runs great and real strong. Only thing, valve cover gaskets leak bad. Is this a tough change? Have the gaskets and want to do it , just curious how much time it might take.

I am assuming that it is a 5.0 since it is a 95. The drivers side is pretty easy to remove, you just have to unbolt the EGR solenoids from the top of the valvecover an move them to the side. The passenger side is a bit more difficult. The upper intak manifold must be removed to gain access to the upper valve cover bolts as well as making enough room to remove the valve cover itself. There is a center bolt in the middle of the upper intake that uses a torx bit to remove. I believe that it is a T-25.

Great! Will inform you as I progress. This weeked is shot but may pull it into the garage to start at night . Thanks again.

Not trying to be a know it all but the center intake bolt is a torx t-40. Good luck on the gasket swap and whatever you do dont over tighten the bolts that hold the upper intake to the lower intake because the intake will crack very easy from over torqing.
