I drove my daughters truck ('96 F150) to the store earlier today and it drove fine- no different than it ever does. Tried to crank it to go home and it turns over like it's going to crank, but won't. Seems like its not getting any gas. Maybe the fuel pump? Any suggestions? Anyone know if the fuel pump is in the tank of a '96? It got dark before I could look at it. Any help would be appreciated.
You say it turns over like it's going to crank. Does it turn over? but won't start. Is your foot off the gas pedal, if not the throttle position switch will not feed it gas. When you turn the ignition switch on do you here the fuel pump run for a second.

Would you mind explaining what you are talking about, as this is the first I have ever heard that the TPS tells the PCM to turn on the fuel.
The PCM uses information from the TPS plus other sensors to adjust the amount of fuel the injectors inject after it is running.
