1955 Tatra 805

An old school Czech 4X4 looks like a tank. Air cooled V8 independent axles tough.

There's at least 2 Tatra cars in Toronto. The older of the 2 looks similar to the original beetle but bigger.

They are darn cool units. (Like a lot of European Military trucks of similar ilk)
They still make trucks like this too... and they are very popular with people who race in the Paris Dakar and the like - which should give you an indication of the durability of them.
They primarily make specialist units now though.

Next to the blue oval, Tatra is my favorite marque (cool to see someone else mention it). My dad used to have an old T111 which he sold when I was 6 - the thing was beyond indestructable, I remember him telling me that it pulled a D9-18A Cat bulldozer which was stuck with mud above its tracks, but it wouldn't go over 50mph going downhill with a tailwind.

It is a pity with such an intriguing history that thier car business when the way of a lot of other brilliant. Cars like the Tatraplan should not be forgotten. Not to mention brilliant vehicles like the T607 Monopost. Or the revolutionary T87

There are alot of decently tough trucks made by former Soviet Bloc countries, ARO is one that comes to mind. I am actually waiting for them to start importing the CrossLander, built off the proven ARO244 platform. Tough, four round headlights, looks a lot like a Land Rover, but around $20k. Everything under it is made by Eaton, with actual u-joints in the front axles instead of something that belongs on a FWD car.
