short absence
hey all. first off, I know this should go in the non-automotive discussion, but my aerobuddies are all over here.
anyhoo, to hopefully make a long story short, I'll be taking a short hiatus. heading to FLA to do some hurricane cel site work. not sure what kind of connectivity we'll have, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to post for awhile. been told to expect to be gone a month or so, but before the celebrating starts
, it might not be that long. at the moment, Wilma is showing a weakening trend once into the gulf, and she's not expected to hit FLA at much more than a cat. 1. here's hoping and hope to "see" you all soon.

a 2 month vacation in Florida laying on the beach in a cabana and sipping mai tai's brought by slinky 22 year 38-24-36 beach body mechanics in thong bikinis, all on the company tab...how do i get a job like that?

....and we've rented F250's to pull the generators to the sites. I just hope we can find someplace open for the mai-tai's. we should be leaving early mon morning. and it's only for a month. maybe.
I do like the aero idea though...hmm, add to the to-do list when I get back?

well.....Wilma may hit with more force than they originally expected. she's a cat 2 now...a strong cat 2...and she's hit the gas! this will mean less weakening over land and she's expected to still be a cat 1 after crossing into the Atlantic. I have friends and family in the wake of this thing, keeping my fingers crossed.
this will most likely be my last post for a while as we're heading out first thing tomorrow morning. we'll be arriving at our staging area in lakeland about the time she clears out. good luck to you all, and don't get too plastered at the celebration!

PS on edit: there's a map of FTE members here. someone set it up in the general section of the forum, but I haven't seen many of us on it. figured I'd let you all know about it, so if you wanted to, you could add yourself to it.

hey all...I'm back from the destruction. it wasn't as bad as expected in most areas. been real busy since our return (a good thing) so I haven't had much time to post. hope to be back at it soon. until then, keep 'em greasy side down and between the lines.
