Question Injector Replacements

Since many of our EFI Bronco's are getting a little long in the tooth, I got to wondering how many of you have simply replaced the injectors as a method to bring the engine back to better and more efficient running?

I understand that both the 5.8L and 5.0L engines use the 19lb 0280150556-D5B injector as stock. There are lots of these available on eBay as nearly new take offs when wild boys boost their Mustangs and need higher flow injectors. This injector is a Bosch design II, pintle type.

Further, have any of you replaced the stock injectors with a 0280155710-F6VE injector? This is a Bosch design III model, which is a disc type injector which is factory flow matched to within 1-2%, and has a significantly finer droplet size for higher efficiency (or more power) and directly interchangeable with the older design above. I've done this change out on a BMW with some success, it's basically plug-n'-play.

I've replaced them with the Ford Motor Sports 19lb units. I think they are basically a factory replacement. Don't know the part #'s

They gave back some life to the old 5.0.

FMS (Ford Racing now) were several hundred $$ less than anything else on the market.

They are marketed as "not to be used on emission controlled vehicles" though, if it matters to you.
