I have a 93 Bronco I am trying to figure out if my fuel pump is bad or the inertia switch. while driving it I could here a clicking sound coming from the area were the inertia switch is located. Every time I heard the clicking sound it would loss power like it was not getting fuel. Now I can not hear the fuel pump come on when I hit the key. I checked the relay under the hood I can hear a clicking sound from the relay. I also checked for spark and I have that. I have power going into the inertia switch. Any help or suggestions would be great.
The inertia switch is under the passanger side kick panel on my '95
If you remove the connector from the fuel pump, (doable w/o dropping the fuel tank) you can check for +12V there when someone turns on the ighnition. (it will last only for a few seconds since the control module can sense the lack of the fuel pump and will turn it off automatically)
There is about 183,000 miles on it. I Replaced the inertia switch still pump not coming on. Thanks aurgathor I will check connector at the fuel pump. I thought I would have to drop the tank.
