Well, after I was told of how plastic bed liners will de-paint your bed and cause it to rust away, I finally pulled out the stock liner. YUP, I'm down to bear metal in a couple of large spots!
Sooo, today I'm going to town to find a spray in shop and get her done. I did a search on this forum and found that Rhinoliner and Linex are both good, with Linex seeming to come up a little bit more durable???
My questions are, is anything else "new" out there that I should be aware of before heading to town, and confirmation that Linex is as good if not better than the other brands?
I'll give this thread a few hours before committing on my journey. Thanks for anticipated input, Tim
Nope, nothing new... Linex is still the best! It is better than others because it is more flexible. Some of the others are so hard that they crack with bed-flex.
Great! Thanks! That's good enough for me. Call me impatient. I'll head over to Google for a search for vendors. I suppose there is a Linex specific web site for this. What is your feeling on color matching the bed rales, where visible from outside profile?
Tim

I hear that the color matching is pretty good. Although all my vehicles are black But, the material is pretty thick. I am not sure what it would look like on top of the bedrail. I am sure that the installer will be able to give you some pointers on this.
Hey thanks again. I found the dealership locator on their web site. Looks like Carson City Nevada for me. I'm on dial up so need to hang up now and call em. Pretty excited. Just love spending money on my trucks.

Are you getting this done on a Super Duty? If so you can't really do the bed rails. They have a plastic cover on them, if you remove that the bed rail will have a bunch of holes in it.

Just got off the phone with the shop in Reno Nevada (Carson City was too busy to do it today). They stated the same thing, Cant do bed rales due to riveted plastic rales. Oh well. They did say that they will knock off 50 bucks for the inconvenience of having to commute to Reno (another 30 minutes) This brings the total to $360 for a short bed without bed rales being done. Hoo Hoo! Alot better price than I was expecting.
On the road now, thanks guys.

That's interesting, my truck is in the linex shop today too. I'm just over the hill from you in Yuba City. Good luck. Oh by the way are they removing the bed bolts, tail gate access cover, and tie downs? My guy says he does. Hopefully he is telling the truth. I will also post pictures tonight.
I went with Toff on my old '98 ranger and it was (ready for the pun?) tuff! Really, it stood up to everything I threw at it (coal shovels being the worst I think, maybe dragging furnature) with only 1-2 chipps over a 6-7 year window.
Stuck with the Toff on my '05 SD thinking it would be the same... if I could get the Toff replaced with Linex, at a good cost, I would. It has 2-3 chips already and my truck is unde a year old. Not sure what happened to the quality control but this install blows
I removed the plastic and the Line-X shop put metal tape over and under the holes and shot over the tape and under the rails. It's held up just fine sine May.
They also removed the bed bolts and tailgate access cover screws. They shot over the two oval rubber grommets on the front of the bed. Looking back, I would probably ask them to remove those.
Antacus, you're the first person I've seen here that has a Toff liner. I had my 04 sprayed at the dealer when I picked it up. That is who they use. So far so good, but then again I have'nt abused the bed, I mainly got it for overall protection
