Auto Parts online lists a new box for about 1k for 73-79s. Anybody have any idea about quality, fit etc?

I saw that. It seems awefully cheap. I'm assuming that it is for an 8 foot box. This has really spiked my curiosity. I'm looking for 6' box sides but am having no luck.

zahn,
I used the long bed ones and cut and wrapped the front edges around the bed. Looks pretty good for a novice body man, and great for my daily driver. The last time I saw Ford panels for a short box they were close to $400 a piece.

MO whould be Missouri. It is a 73-77 don't know which right off, but that does mean it has the gas CAP not the door.

Missouri is quite a ways away from where I am here in Calgary. But thanks anyways. I think the shipping would be pretty high. I have a 6' box that is in pretty good shape except for the rust around the wheel wells. I'm going to look into cutting down the 8' sides.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-May-02 AT 05:58 PM (EST)]Wow thanks for link... I wonder if the shipping will kill me too, Quebec Canada I could use the 8' panels.

EDIT: They said 80 bucks to ship two 8'panels to my house. Using this calculator : http://www.autobodypartsonline.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/shipcalc.html

I did the checkout thing (with my credit card) to see my total shipping charge... It's 90 bucks. I hope I didn't order the panels LOL... Oh well I need them anyway.

It's not too bad, it still comes pretty cheap compared to going to a body shop or parts store to buy the panels.

again thanks for the link. I did find a Canadian company that sold these parts too. I'll see if I can find the link again...

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-May-02 AT 08:17 PM (EST)]eph1fifty, Try Cross Canada Parts, I think they're still around. They did have the 8" sides the last time I checked. Come to think of it I should check again.

I tried lookign for Cross Canada Parts but didn't find a web site... I did see this company though http://www3.sympatico.ca/frank.faitz/PROBODY2.htm

I sent them an email 3 days ago asking about prices. I think I will call them. I'll post the results when I get them.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-May-02 AT 08:26 AM (EST)]me again lol

I just called Cross Canada for a driver side 8' bed panel and it's listed at 394.51 for one. Ordering BOTH panels online will come to around 500 bucks shipped (exchange included). I'd be saving almost 300 bucks by ording it online

When it comes to smaller parts buying it from Cross Canada comes to about the same thing. I checked for a cab corner and it comes to 25 bucks (I'm talking CAD here). It's always best to shop around.

BTW Cross Canada is a warehouse, you could go to your local UDP to buy the parts (It may be a little cheaper at UAP compared to list price from the warehouse).

LOL I can rate myself
