I've searched all of the posts about the clunk coming from the rear end while taking off from a dead stop. I've got the same problem. I didn't ever find a "fix" for this or a difinitive solution. Is there a TSB on this and are most dealers aware of the problem? I'm going to take mine in soon but want to know really what the problem is.
Thanks all!
I took my truck in on Monday for this problem and they seem to have fixed the issue. Clunking noise is gone and seems smoother now going thru the gears. Not sure what the TSB number is but my dealer said there was a TSB for it and the TSB is what they went by to fix it. Had something to do with adjusting and lubing the yoke.
Hopes this helps. Left paperwork at home. If I remember to bring to office I will tell what is noted.
It is due to an improper driveline angle. There is a shim kit, as well as lube for the slip yoke that is designed for this. I also have this problem. Drop me a PM if you want to talk about it.
