Injector cleaner

Could not find a post on injector cleaners. I was wondering if there was any input as to a positive/negative experience with injector clearers. My Powerstroke has 75K miles and I read somewhere that I should start running injector cleaner through it. Sounds logical, but not sure if it was just a sales pitch. I have noticed that at around 60K miles, my fuel milage dropped dramatically (about 2-3 mpg). I changed the fuel filter, the air filter, put on new tires (not because of milage) and no positive change. Asked around and the only injector cleaner that anyone could recommend was BG44K.

Thoughts?

I agree with Barebackjake. Do a search on stanadyne and you will find many replies.

I run either Stanodyne performance formula or Power Services Diesel Kleen(grey bottle) in summer, or Diesel fuel suppliment (White bottle) in the winter. All are alcohol free which is important.
I heard about the Stanodyne from a string a month or so ago, but it is hard to find. A lot of guys recomend the Power Services which can be bought at Wal-Mart, Truckstops, Meijers, etc.
I noticed a slight increase in milaege (they all have Cetane booster) and less smoke during acceleration, and I figure it is cheap insurance for the injector pump since all have lubricants for the pump, and the injectors because they have injector cleaner. I add EVERY time I fill up.

Hint, pick up a handfull of those free diposable paper funnels from gas stations/truck stops when you see them. Keep them behind your rear seat with the bottle of additive as it is much cleaner than keeping a dirty funnel in your truck. None of the bottles are designed so they can be poured into your tank without a funnel although they all have markings to show you hom many ounces are left in the bottle.

Good luck

I use LUCAS and the PS Diesel Kleen. Just keep one of the small LUCAS bottles for which ever cause it's shaped just right for pouring.

What was I thinking? I use DK but never thought of it as an injector cleaner. It says it right there on the bottle. I am looking for a good flush. My problem is horrible fuel milage. I get ~12 mpg on a regular basis and I haven't put my foot in it in over a month. Really focused on never getting it over 2000 rpms. New air filter and fuel filter doesn't help. Tires properly inflated. Running out of ideas. Thought maybe a good flush of the injectors might help. I used to get 15 city/18-19 hwy. Now 12city/14 hwy. No load. Use DK - no help. Use Predator at high altitude setting (live @6000 ft.) - no help. Reset to factory - no help.

Please help.

Whenever I change my fuel filter, I always fill the fuel bowl up with PowerService Gray, and then pour the rest into the tank. A straight shot to clean the injectors! I haven't had any performance issues to start with, so I'm not sure whether or not it's beneficial... It doesn't seem to to hurt anything though..
