Ok, Im sure this is dead horse but I need to make decision and who better to ask than the folks who have been there done that. Looking for good power without the drone. Want the noise behind me, not rattling my brains inside my truck. Want to know there is a 300 horse engine in front of me.Help please
Both products are pretty close in features and benifits...
Both are stainless steel throughout, both are mandrel bent and both will produce pretty close to the same results in performance.
I have the Magnaflow cat-back on a 4.6l and it sounds really good when accellerating, nice and deep and sounds really nice on startup. Once at highway speeds it has a slight drone, but not to the point of being annoying. Keep in mind, this is on an Expedition, so the sound will resonate more than it would in a F-150 since the backend of mine is eclosed and attached to the driver's area. I think it's quieter inside the cab of a pick-up because the bed absorbs alot of the sound and doesn't transfer it to the cab.
The Borla sounds awesome on any application, it just has a sound of it's own. if you've ever heard a Borla on any vehicle you know what I'm talking about. My father-in-law's '98 Cobra has the Borla cat-back (along with every other mod possible) and it sounds incredible!
To answer your question, I would think the Borla is a bit louder in general, but I would think that if you left everything else the same, they will be very similar in interior drone.
To me it would come down to price, as the Borla is usually a little pricier than anything else. But if you got the $$$ and can find a good deal on a Borla setup, I would say go for it. Your truck will definately not sound like every other F-150 with exhaust!

I love my Borla SIDO cat-back...
I had it installed last weekend and love them, no drone in the cab.
I do not think they are real loud like some are.
I have a soundbite of the Borla SIDO (rear exit) in my gallery. I agree that Magnaflow and Borla are very similar ... both great products. I'm certainly pleased with my purchase.
I put the Borla SIDO catback's on my 05 screw. Deep mellow rumble at idle, can't hear em at all cruisin... same part number for the 05 F150 and the 05 Stang !!
dynomax exhaust rocks!!! ultra flow ovals are the ticket for power and reduced noise. i even ran them on my 2000 expedition. I ran 10.78 thru the exhaust in the 1/4 mile then dropped the exhaust completely and ran straight headers and only turned a 10.75. nuff said...
