run an aluminum intake and wheels, remove everything that isn't needed for speed. tailgate, bumpers, passenger seat, cut and grind all bolts and casting flash from axles and frame and motor, tranny, and t-case housings. gun drill the axles, run 2.5 inch thick wall drivelines-they weigh 20% less than 3" ones.. only run single shocks- no dual set-ups, shocks are heavy! run a quart low in the engine with a full synthetic oil, and cut your tranny and diff capacity by 25%.. by keeping your fluids low you cut a bit of weight but more importantly you reduce parasitic oil drag. drop your fan belts and gain 5% power across the board. one more little trick.. only one gas tank in the cab- drain it completely and dump in 5 gallons of 130 octane in- it won't idle for nothing but you can crank the timing another few degrees and turn an extra 7-800 rpm's.. I'll c if i can find the slip and post it for you.. i always kept them in the glovebox of that truck so maybe they ended up in a box when she cleaned me, i mean it, out..
i almost didn't notice that last comment. F150 4x4 -5200 w- a driver... subtract 200 for a driver and you only gotta drop 360 lbs.... not a challenge with bumpers and tailgate alone... remember, there is no difference in running gear from 150 to 250 in the front end, just a 9 in ch versus a dana 60 in the back.. 150 front suspension with coils, track bar, and radius arms outweigh a pair of leaf springs by almost 30 lbs too...

i'm glad you liked it! i do what i can with that which is set before me... lol yeah if you dump that brushguard and intake your down an easy 125-150 pounds... a cast iron intake weighs 98lbs versus only 18 for an edelbrock performer rpm.... there truelly isn't much weight difference when it comes right down to it with these old fords, they are built so heavy duty in two wheel drive form that they rival the weights of a four wheel drive... maybe that beer went bad and that was the tuna smell...

well my old truck weights in around 3600lbs with me in it. If I can get it to hook up my 418 fe stroker should put me in the 12's. IF I could ever get the machine shops to get moving on finishing the balancing of it!!!
