Anyone ever install one of these Tiawanese beauties? A real universal piece of work. I'm really wishing I would've found a NOS Autolite or Motorcraft one. The price on the Napa one where I live was $33+. It comes with the adapter extension bracket "IF" you need it. Guess what? You need it. The factory switch has this bracket spot-welded onto it. Trying to install the Napa switch without the bracket permenantly installed to the switch somehow, just doesn't seem to work for me. I have mechaniced for many years and owned my own auto-repair and towing business for 9 years. My light switch is temporarily installed and hanging under the dash right now. The only thing that I can think of to make it possible to install is, J-B weld the extension bracket to the front of the switch, let dry, then install it.
P.S. Superglue does not work. LOL
If anyone has any ideas to share on this, please do!!
Thanks, Rick

Rick: I just put one in my 70 F100. What I did was super glued the adaptor to the switch, waited about an hour . Once the switch is tightened in the dash you dont have to worry about it again. JB weld might also work. Stan
Thanks Stan!! I'll give that a shot. We just sold our 2001 Lightning, so I get to put the '69 into service. In the past, I had turned the light switch **** to get the dash lights to light up...... in the process, the rheostat spring fell to the floor in hot molten metal pieces. LOL I figured it was time to change out the switch.
I bought one for my 70 f-100 about 6 months ago. I got it at autozone for about 12 bucks. I do not remember the brand or where it was made but it was identical to my old one. Installed easily.
My truck's lights just started blinking the other night, and my panel dimmer has been shot for as long as I've owned the truck, so I went looking on motorcraft.com for a headlight switch. Sure enough, they have a part for our trucks.
It's Motorcraft p/n SW-1245, and I have no idea how much it costs. It still may be much more cost effective to get one from a 3rd party or the bone yard (most of the yard switches I've encountered are just like mine, however, the dimmer resistor spring is corroded and/or broken, and the circuit breaker is old and weak). Thought I'd throw that in for anyone interested.
If you are running extra lights, make sure you wire them with a relay, most of the switches and wires arent big enough for all that juice running thru them. In my state, the law says fog and running lights have to be wired into the high beam circuit, so you cant use them unless you are on high beam. but who pays any attention to that?
