I would agree that that truck is a dud. My friends Cummins pulls fine with any weight on the back, highway or city it runs fine.
The Cummins is a great motor for towing (not better or worse than the 6.0 IMO) its just has a completly diffrent powerband compared to the PSD.
I like the Cummins as a work motor but the truck and everything around it isn't up to par IMO.

It has to be a problem. We got a 05 cummins drw 3.73 auto at my old work and i took a 22000lbs load down FL with 800mi on the odometer. I had the cruise set at 72mph in od and it pulled as good or better than the 6.0 we got rid of.
