Traction adders - looking for advise

I am planning on adding either a locker or posi to replace my factory "continous slip". I have heard that true "lockers" such as a Detroit will break axles if you are putting heavy loads in the bed (I pull a 14,000# 5er). Other lockers have clunking noises when turning. I have looked at air lockers, electric lockers and aftermarket posi-tracs. So many choices! What are you folks running? Any advise would be appreciated before I spend a bunch of money and not be satisified with the results.

i would go with a selectable locker like an air locker or an electronic one. i know a lot of people who have off road trucks and thats what they all run. a true locker isnt very good for towing especially with a heavy trailer and a posi will wear out if you do a lot of wheel spinning and not give you the traction a locker will. the selectable lockers are more money but they are worth it

remember if you have an air locker, you also need to run piping, have an air compressor, and a tank.
