Without getting too deep into why at this point. I have a rather odd question about the NP205. Lets say I wanted to run this thing backward (see I said it was odd) in low range and only in 2WD mode. I added an external oil pump and cooler. Could this unit handle longer HWY travel like this? I know this is off the deep end but I am working on a build and not sure who else to ask.
I think he means to use it as an OD. . .but that would be a 2:1 OD if it worked If you turned 2600 rpm at 65 before, thats a scant 1300 rpm's afterwards (which is some serious lugging). And you will have to shift into "OD" before you head out, and driving through the city like that will kill your mileage from having to gas your motor to move.
You are correct about the OD. However the main perpose of this would be to drive two rear axles. The setup will utillize 2 NP205's. Some other stuff too but that is simple. Also yes I would have to put the second reverse 205 in low at a stop before the HWY. There are lots of other things to say but I need to get ALL my facts strait first and then I can post it here. If you are really interested maybe PM or email me and we can talk about particulars as there are many.
