shift kit ok?
i recently serviced my trans in my 97 f350,psd,dually and was thinking of doing a shift kit trans has 70,000 miles on it.I was talking to a local trans guy and asked what he thought about it,he claimed to be a ford expert because that is what he drives a 96 psd,and 02 psd both autos and drag races mustangs.he said if it was his he would not do a shift kit because after that many miles the transmission has developed wear patterns on the internal parts and it makes it more prone to problems if a shift kit is added with that kind of miles,but he said adding a programmer to add line pressure for firmer shifts would be ok......what do you guys think.
