Exclamation '79 Bronco stalling

79 Bronco giving me a headache.with a C-6 ,400 m rebuilt approx.1500 miles ago bored 30 over new pistons and bearings, towing cam w/a Holley 4 v and edelbrock intake and all emissions removed.Engine runs fairly well just sitting at idle but is has had for a while some valve lifter noise when driving under slight load but none on highway or even at a hard load if I get on it more. But now the main problem is that it wants to stall . Seems to run fine until it warms then stalls at stop signs and sometimes as soon as its in gear have to feather the gas just to keep it idleing .But will start right back up and when driving down the road has plenty of power and takes the gas fine.I have a clear fuel filter at the carb and even when it stalls its full of gas and cant find any vacuum leaks tried re-timing and carb adjustments and doesnt seem to matter. It had been a mudder and has spent some serious time being hammered on and been in the air alot. Was wondering if maybe the harmonic balancer could have spun?would that cause this?any help would be appreciated -thanks

It almost sounds like a vacume leak, but with some of your descriptions it seems to point away from that.
Hope someone else can help, but sounds like a great rig.

Are you still running the stock ignition? With the emissions removed you need to recurve your distributor. That is probably the valve train noise you are hearing. Try advancing the timing and see if that helps, but you should address the issue. Post this is the 335 series forum in the engine section. Those guys really know their stuff.

Yes it is the stock distibuter,I have advanced it and it helps a little bit but still wants to stall and still has the valve noise.I'll try posting in the engine forum -

Plug the vacuum line to the power brake booster and see if it still stalls.

Please do not cross post.
