I'v got a 95 350 cc/lb auto it has a new fuel filter, new thermostat(125 at the block after a long run and 96 on the return line) now it at least comes up to operating temp. The problem is at idle when backing or moving in a parking lot it will just die. it restarts quick and easy. also I don't think my mpg is up where it should be. Any body ave a good idea what to look at?????
I checked out the schraeder valve today and it appear to be a solid 60 psi, could it be and ICPsensor? some of the problems seem to be similar sounding to mstepchinski's post in the weird behavior thread
could be the ipr is plugged up or needs to be rebuilt. so it only does it when your moving around at idle? does it stay running when you start it and just get going? one way to see if your ipr is somewhat working is to unplug it while its running. if the truck stalls atleast the solinoid is somewhat working. if it stays running the ipr needs to be replaced.
It dies when I stop to back into a parking spot, or sometimes when I stop for a turn. seems to be mostly if I let the rpm's drop to fast, if I feather the throttle down I can keep it running. Also I have notice a short miss at speed and some times it just doesnt hold the rpms steady (kinda like its hickuping or something) what ever the problem is I think it is negatively affecting my milage.
well I finally got in to the dealer to have a scan done. Seems the the exhaust back pressure sensor was bad and the tube plugged. I tried to ream the tube but it was so plugged that I couldn't clean it so I replaced ti w/ a new one. I replaced the egbp sensor, and put on a qwick filter. it did die on me on my test run, but I have not had the computor cleare yet, I am currently trying to get hooked up w/ somewone that can clear and reset the computor, as I can't buy my own right now. broke from buyin the truck will advise after the comp is cleared how it runs. "lastminute"
to clear your computer unhook your batteries and turn headlights on for 10 minutes or go to a parts store and have them clear codes with code reader for free.
Well It's finally running good. to days and it hasn't died. I put on the new egbp senso and tube but that did not help the problem I was having. I just bought the truck two weeks ago and am still getting maintainance items cleaned up as I have no idea when things were last performed. I went out Tuesday night and changed oil and oil filter "yuch" it was really black..filled up with rotella t, also changed out the air box for a qwick filter. Now when it is warm no blue haze and it has not died since. I guess that the dirty oil from "who knows how long" was not letting the injectors fire right......
Now time for a 3" down pipe...........
