Well... I opened the hood today and found dried flacky whiteish-yellow stuff around the coolant tank... What might have caused this and whats wrong? Thanks for the help
Do you have a tuner or is it stock? This is whats more commonly called puking. Was the system filled above the min line? If it was above Min it will puke the excess. This can also be caused by a faulty EGR cooler. If you run high EGTs the cooler can separate and leak combustion into the coolant. Once the coolant has excessive heat in it, it can no longer accept any more heat to disperse. And the heads do not get cooled down so they expand and lift allowing more combustion into the coolant. If the EGR cooler is good and you have been running something creating high cylinder pressures then the head bolts can actaully stretch and allow combustion into the coolant.

My coolant puking was significantly reduced once the level got below min...Then low and behold, I take her in for the latest recall and the dealership fills the ding dang thing clear up to the top...nice they were trying to take care of me but, the degas bottle is the wrong place to add fluids IMO.
Now I have to sneak momma's turkey juice sucker out to the truck and get rid of some of the coolant juice. I wonder if she'll get real mad...
