All,
There are several things that can cause a rattling, clicking form the front end. Brakes usually sqeek or squeal.
1. A bent backing plate can give a number of noises at different speeds. there are always cyclic or repetive.
2. A bad wheel bearing can give off a clicking noise at low speed and no noise at high speed.
What have you got?

I second William's suggestion. Sounds like a rattle against the caliper piston (it's this pad that's making the noise - since the noise diappears with slight pressure). Try the anti rattle goo out, you'll be suprised.
