homemade mini chopper

Does anyone know if a really small chainsaw engine (1/2 a pony) could pust a small bike on level ground? It will be mounted on the back with a chain running straight down to the sprocket and then have a brake cable and handel and a throttle. Will this work?

it might, depending on the riders size and the weight of the bike. of course, don't expect a lot of performance.

Me and my buddy are building one out of tube from a bunch of bicycles. We got a 5hp B&S for ours. I'm sure a chainsaw motor will move ya, but prolly not very well.

heck ya it will work those mini choppers that people sell have 50 cc chainsaw motors

how many cc is that saw man may only be 1/2 horse but that motor has alot of torque im willing to bet.... i have a mini chopper w/ a 25cc zenoah weedeater motor pumped up (its a rc hobby motor not really a chainsaw) i pulled this thing out of my race rc boat it dynoed at 5.9 HP @ 16,800rpm, so dont underestimate this saw motor you have, w/ a little confidence and know how on 2 stroke motor mods you could wake that thing up real nice w/ a dremel and new bit
