Question to anyone with dark stone truck: how hard a color is it to maintain? Is it like black and looks dirty the day after it's washed, or does it hide dirt/scratches better, like an arizona beige truck would? How would it compare to toreador red, in terms of how well it hides dirt/scratches? I'm pretty much settled on either toreador red w/ az. beige, or dark stone w/ az. beige. However, I don't want to get the dark stone if it will be too much like black. Already have a black car, and it looks dirty the morning after it's washed, and shows scratches and such like they're highlighted..
Very easy to maintain. It hides dirt pretty well. I was looking for Dark Shadow Grey, but the search only came up with Stone Grey with the specs I wanted. Worked out for the best. I like this color much better.
I have a black car as well and the dark stone on my truck is a breeze to keep looking good compared to black, not even close. I think you will find the red and the dark stone to be close to the same for hiding dust etc.
BTW you will find the color changes depending on the light. Goes from grey to brownish and sometimes even an olive green sort of like a camouflage color.
Hey now, there nothin wrong with dark shadow gray, lol. I have to say this since mine is that color. The stone is more of an eligant color though. I dont know if elegant is the right word but I think you guys know what I mean. maybe sofisticated is better word, (I would help if I could spell worth a hoot).
I was torn between the dark shadow grey and the dark stone met. I read a thread on here aboiut the problems with DSG and matching the paint in the event of a scratch or something. I took the thread to mean Ford had seeral 'shades' of DSG and body shops had a hard time getting the match just right. Ended up with the dark stone and love it. Most people call it brown, but to me it looks a little bit green... then again I am "color challenged"
I have a 05 f350 CC 4x4 6.0 in dark stone (no two-tone), with the tan leather. I love it. My wifes car is a Navy Blue, that is difficult to keep clean. Mine is much better looking when it is clean, but does not look near as bad when it is dirty than the Navy, or the black. If I had to order another one today, I would do it again. Just wish I could have gotten the KR in Dark Stone. But, I wanted the Dark Stone, more than the KR. Good luck with whatever you buy.
I've had my F150 dark stone with arizona beige two-tone for about three weeks and it does not show dirt that bad.
At night it looks real dark and in Bright sun it looks brown.
This color was not my first choice I was looking for Grey.
But I will say the longer I have my truck the better I like the color.

Im very happy with my selction of dark stone.I to was concerned about darker colors and the up keep.I did a trip last week up into the mountains. My truck got dusty and dirty, but the dust blended in with the dark stone color very well and the truck still look good. The dark stone brownish tint seems to make the dust and other contaminants blend in.My neighbor has dark shaddow grey on his truck (Chevy) and the dark stone sometimes looks very close to his color. What ever color you decide on will look great on your super duty. Also the dark stone changes colors as the sunlight changes with the time of day.
