Speed Density Question

Would it be possible to use a relatively stock cam with a higher ratio rocker arm on a speed density system and get the effects of a cam with more lift? If my logic is correct...all the other specifications of the cam (overlap, duration, centerline...) would remain the same with the higher ratio rockers and lift would increase. My understanding is that extended duration and valve overlap wreaks havoc with the speed density system.

Im no expert but I would think you would be ok. You have a little room for adjument in the computer but the map sensor doesnt like change in vaccume. I do know that there are cams made for the Speed Density system. I converted over to mass air however I built a motor too wild for even that to handle. I learned alot of tricks along the way from peeps in here. I do know that speed density will work with the MEGA SQUIRT, After reserching I wish I would have gone that route instead. But to answer your question .... as long as you dont change the vaccume much in your intake the computer should read the slight change and compinsate for it. If you want to go bigger then look into mega squirt,,best way to go with big mods...

Look at my set-up in my gallery(s). I run SD. That should put to rest any questions as to what you can do with SD......

Yes, aftermarket/higher ratio rockers will work fine with speed density.
