Alright I got my gallery set up, this is what the panel looked like when I got it home, I have done some work to it since and will post those pics soon. Hope ya like it, I know I can't wait to get it goin!https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=18416
Yea that's my boy, he helps me out in the garage all the time! The motorcycle is a Honda CB750 in a Paughco rigid frame, that was my last project, bought it as a basket case and re-built it took about a year and a half. And the panel IS in pieces, right now I got the front sheet metal off tryin to figure out the next step for the front suspension and set up motor mounts for the Cop 351W I just picked up. Also got the floors all ripped out to replace. Thanks for the kind words guys!
Very very nice. how did you buy a truck it in such nice shape( i know lots of $$$)cant wait to see the progress pics. Well good luck and welcome to FTE!!!

Welcome to the board! What a great looking panel!! Very solid start
The pics with you son in them are great, reminds me of when I got my truck years ago and was trying to take some "before" pics of it. I think my son (who was 6 at the time) managed to get into every pic (cracks me up!!)
Cool bike. I have a CB900C that I've had forever and have ridden all over the western part of this country. It doesnt look like anything like your 750 though
Thanks guys! Actually it is pretty solid but there are some usual rusty areas such as the front fenders where they meet the running boards are shot(didn't see that one untill I took the front clip off!) the floorboards look like swiss cheese too! The wood floor in the back is original and the metal around it(the rear inner fenders) and such are pretty rusted too. But I can't complain all in all it is in great shape for it's age(knock on wood) who knows whats hiding under the paint and bondo though! I got a hell of a deal on it I think, I always wanted one and was going to the city burn site one day and saw a rusted up panel sitting behind a chicken coop. I got ahold of the owner and he said "hell if you want a panel you should se what I got inside the coop" so I cruised over. Man it was like heaven! He had every body style of Ford truck covered in there, 2 48 panels, a 49 truck, a 54 truck, a 60's unibody, a 58 in GREAT shape, a 70 hot rod truck, a 68 fast back stang, I am tellin ya I thought it was heaven! Parts and memorabilia everywhere, but he pulled the tarp off of the panel and low and behold there she was waitin for me, I offered up some cash and took her home! Now I just gotta bring it back to life and cruise like there is no tomorrow!
Great looking panel I haven't seen many 48's before! I bet you are fully stoked! You gotta love a truck with a great story like that too! Sounds like she found you!
I don't know where to get the patch panels or if they are even available, but they shouldn't be difficult to make our own, the fenders are not a very complex shape, and there are a number of experienced people on here that will be happy to help guide you thru the process and/or point you towards instructional materials.
Yea that may be what I end up having to do! May just have to make some templates and take it to work, we got a metal shrinker/stretcher there. Went yesterday and picked up a 90 crown vic cop car, well actually it was a Fed car, all blue with carpet and the spotlight. Drove it home, strong 351HO and AOD to throw in the panel, so I now I got some guts to throw in her!
