Hey guys I haven't been around much lately. Getting a business going can really eat up your time.
I won't be posting in this section much anymore because I just traded the Muddbugg(71 f-250 4x4).
A business associate wanted the truck so bad that he offered a trade for a 1997 f-350 4x4 flatdeck. It has a strong diesel 5 spd and the 4x4 works great with all the bells and whistles. He ran the truck 2 winters as a maintenence truck but wants toys now. With the type of work I am in this truck is ideal for the oil patch. I drove it home yesterday and just have to do some trailer towing wiring and then I'm good to go.
I thought at first he was just letting the beer talk but the next day he gave me the keys and told me he was serious. An appraiser had the 97 at $15,000.
So I guess you could say I got 15G's for a 34 year old truck that hasn't run in 2 months.
I think I got a pretty good trade, especially since I can use it for work and make money with it.
I will keep popping in just to see what you are up to because the old FE's are just too cool to walk away from. I will get another one one day but right now it's work time.
Dosen't sound like a bad deal. At least it is usable for what you need and don't have to go trade it in for somthing differant. Like taking a car in trade for your truck and have to trade the car for another truck because you really need a truck.
trades are great i got my 72 for a holly 850 double pumper and it should be ready to start tomorrow so i will see. Great deal, i love bartering no uncle sam holding out their hand for some taxes
The barter system works good.I wanted my 69 painted and a guy I know wanted soffitt and fascia done on his house.I did his work and my truck is there know getting painted. No money traded hands and we both get what we were after. moparnut
Yeah, I'd love to do some trading/bartering around here, but there aren't many people willing to deal. I finally found the front axle I was after, but the guy wouldn't take any trades, cash only.
