hey i just joined hoping someone here would have some ideas for me. i have lifted a wide variety of different vehicles, but this old ford is mine and i will be doing this in my own garage . i want some ten inch springs. but are hard to find for less then a grand..... anybody have any connections?????

I have lifted a few of the 67-79 Ford F100 & F150 truck.
I personally believe a 10" of lift is a very high for the coil front suspension. Not to mention the angle of the front drive shaft to front axle.
A 4" to 6" would make a more suitable 4x4 for offroading purposes.
My neighbor lifted is 78 Ford Bronco about 10" by unbolting the front coil spring towers and bolting the towers lower and then installed a 6" inch lift coil spring to increase the height of the front end.
welcome to FTE! is your truck f100, f150, f250? what kind of springs you need depends on if its 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. also,if you want that much lift, your going to need more than just springs.steering componants,brake lines,longer drive shafts,body lift may-be,not to mention shimms to correct your pinion angles on both your diffs.lifting properly and safely is not a good place to go cheap,you will only regret it later when you have hadling and stability problems. just my opinion,-billy
