Started Cleaning Out Cab...pics

The second shot shows the mouse didnt like the quality of work done with the foam sound deadener done by the last restore shop...he was working on removing the foam and putting more padding above the sunvisor area....Good Job!

Now the wheels start turning on what to do?....what to change?...what to cut???
Throw some ideas at me for inspiration....thanks, Ed
My skill level is learn as I go. I,m fairly good mechanically but apprehensive when it comes to new stuff that I havnt done...like the thought of shaving the drip rails???
and I've seen mild chops that only cut the fat above the windshield...keeping all the glass size stock??? I cant afford a runnaway build cost right now, but I hate to not do something now while its apart.
Ive got leather buckets and ideas for custom center console for the interior, already have done tilt column and toy. pwr. steer, 3-on-tree is now a floor shift. I have lowered the susp. 1.5 in back and 4.7/8 in front (mono's). I rebuilt the original 239, swapping in a 64 3-speed trans.
I only have my flux-core welder and have been doing fender, door and under cab patch repair with it...I have been offered use of a miller mig unit by a friend (I use mig at work so I can do well with it). A good welder would come in handy for the rail shaving , etc...
I was just looking for ideas and thought one would reach out and grab my interest?
Ed
Looks like you have a pretty good cab to start with. The skys the limit, A lot of the time I'll make some mods out cardboard, tape it to the cab just to get a idea if thats the way to go. Most recently did that with a visior, had the cardboard for a few days, now I have the actual steel one tacked in place, still deciding if I like the look.
There are many different mods that can be done. just got to make it your own creation. At least for me I don't want a cookie cutter truck with all the same mods on every other truck. working for that one of kind thing.
OSSPS I think I got carried away. sorry
good luck
Mike
I am already setting up to smooth the firewall, I'm not using the stock gas pedal linkage and have that and alot of "extra" holes the P.O. put in for me.
There's lots of fun install for me in the near future....I've got a bath remodel to do in the house...but I have a 30 days off at x-mas to get into trouble with.
If i make any major cool changes I'll post pics as I go.
again, thanks for the input , Ed
