1960 F100 longbed stepside?
Nick
Welcome to F.T.E.
Ford called their trucks, 'Flareside' & 'Styleside', not by the C&%#y designations.
There are rather few Longbed, Flaresides that I've ever seen & out of the 141,258 F-100's built in 1960, only about a 1/4 were Flareside boxes.
Yes, a Styleside Longbed box will fit w/o any trouble what so ever.
Nope, just as I stated previously, 'Flareside' & 'Styleside' are the FomoCo desiginations.
Got it out of Paul G. Mclauphlin's book 'Ford Pickups 1957-67', as well as FoMoCo published Lit..
Wyo Tech huh? I spent a long (I mean REALLY long) winter there back in the early 80's in the automotive section, back when all they offered was Automotive, Diesel, Body Shop, and Upholstery.
Wyoming, where men are men and sheep are nervous! (just kidding)
Take care, good luck with your truck and surviving Laramie

term. I've always been a VW guy so I dont know much about American cars. It just snowed here a few days ago so winter has arrived in the thriving metropolis known as Laramie. Ha! Thanks for the info!!Nick
Don't sweat the Ford/Chevy terminology as I'm sure the Colonel was letting you know for informational purposes, and not to make you feel bad or foolish at all. That said, we run a family atmosphere here and hazing, flaming, etc. are not tolerated - so don't worry about being a new kid on the block. I try to give folks some leeway but I'll jerk the reins once in a while if things get too far off the main road.
On the other hand, there is a lot of friendly banter and even some (bad) wit on the forum, but it's all in good fun. When you get a minute or two, read through the sticky threads at the top of the forum and then set up your gallery. It sounds like you have one of the rarer old trucks and we'd love to see some photos if you have them.
You should also register on the 1957-1960 truck registry by submitting your data plate (rating plate) information. You can find the thread here
