Superduty TBC IBC TowCommand Braker Controller on Excursion?
I see many threads related to the newer Superduty brake controllers. Lots of questions, not too many answers, so I'm risking the "read before you post" syndrome and asking a different question. I asked the same question on the Excursion forum.
Maybe there's some Ford employees on this forum who can look at the specifications or wiring diagrams of the '05 Excursion vs the '05/'06 Superduty and see if there's at least the pig-tail to connect the controller in-dash.
I don't expect it will be able to pass messages to the instrument console, but if it can work as a controller, that would be a neat solution.
Otherwise, I guess I take the Prodigy from the old tow vehicle, but I want to at least try to use the factory parts.
I thought the same thing as the opening looked like it would fit most all the superduties. I was more interested in the Four AUX switches than the controller though. From what I gathered it is tied into the anti lock brake system and couldn't be added on to older vehicles, yours being an '05, you might have better luck than I did.
I think the aux switches look good too -- it's always a dog's breakfast once you put in a switch for this and switch for that, suddenly your truck looks like you had a gift voucher for Pep Boys.

Yeah, I know what you mean by a gift voucher, I ended up putting four switches in the ash tray, but it would be nice to have the switches in the dash that have a very factory look.
