Odd idle after service.

Had a check engine light come on about 2 weeks ago. Finally took it down to the dealer today and they scanned it for me. The tech popped the hood and started pockin around the TB. He pulled out the PCV and hose and showed me a crack in the hose. He got a new hose out and put it back together and reset my codes.

Everything is great, until tonight.

Tonight I have a little hick up on take off, and my idle is strange. The idle goes between 800rpm and 1200rpm. At idle it sits at 1000 and jumps or falls at random. The hick up on start off isnt all ways there, Ive noticed it twice tonight.

Now before I had the code read and the PCV hose replaced my truck was dead smooth. I watched the service tech replace the PCV hose and nothing else was messed with so what do you all think is going on here? IAC maybe and this is all just a coincidence (sp)?

On a side note the dealers service guy treated me really good. Didnt charge me any labor time even though he spent about 30 mins working on my truck and burned his knuckles on the hot intake.

I would bet the IAC as well. The only other thing is, did he reset the computer after changing the hose. I may be trying to figure itself out again.

IAC would be the most likely cause though.

Does it stutter or misfire at all? If so it could be the EGR. If not sounds like the IAC.

Did he happen to pull any other hoses - did you check? Did he check that 90 deg ell that attaches to the throttle body that pulls vac on the PCV?

That 90 degree elbow that connects below the tb is what he replaced. Right in the middle of that 90 was the vacuum leak I had. Nothing else was messed with I watched the whole time.

Sometimes when there is a leak in that hose over time the IAC gets carboned an plugged.Take it in or take the IAC off clean it or replace it.
