Replacement Fuel Tank Question

Some time ago there was a thread on larger replacement fuel tanks. I thought I saved the info but the only thing I can find that I saved is www.transferflow.com systems.

I did a search and couldn't find the thread.

It seems that maybe Tim recommended a different one than transferflow.

Does anyone know what is a reliable, warranted (yes/no?) replacement fuel tank? With diesel prices high and going higher, it seems that even at $800-$900 for a tank it would soon pay for itself.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Tranfer flow tank is the one Tim and I have. It's a 46 gal cost 704. + shipping replaces the stock 29 gal tank.

Did you purchase it straight from TrtansFerFlow for $704?

Did you, or do you, have any concerns regarding clearance? From the pictures posted on the site, it appears that you lose about 4 inches of side clearance (from the frame), and 9 inches from the front frame.

I don't do any serious 4 wheeling, but I do farm and hunt in some places that make me think twice about this.

Appreciate your thoughts.

I wonder about the clearance too, as I am quite often off the road for the same reasons.

If I were to get a replacement tank from Transfer Flow, it would be a 57 gallon tank to replace my 38 gallon tank as I have an eight-foot bed.

In the meantime, at least it looks like I saved the right information!

Kepler4 --

I'm impressed! That sure was the thread...now I moved the tank from "on" my wish list to the "top" of my wish list! LOL.

Thanks

I was looking under my truck and noticed the stock 29gal tank already hangs about 2" below the frame rails in spots. From the web site pics the TFF would be about the same, I think. Question is... where do they put the extra 17gal of fuel? The stock seems to be a pretty tight fit.

I get my Transfer Flow tank (46 gallon) back from Line-X on Monday and should have time to install it the following weekend. I'll take some pics of both tanks in and out of the truck for comparison and post in my gallery. I'll measure the ground clearance before and after as well.
