i have a 2001 f250 4x4 auto 6" lift 37"tires.....this weekend i drove my truck to the river,first time in along time that i haven't had the trailer on the back. the whole way there and the entire time there the truck was as usual the front end had slop(i think loose/worn ball joints). and i think maybe one of the front end bearings was done for too. i replaced the driverside already so its due for on the other side. everthing elsewas good to go. then about an hour in to the drive home when i came up to a grade it went for a downshift and shifted into nuetral????? so i eazed off and it went back into verdrive and i just powered my truck up the hill in overdrive. it happend many times and when i stopped later to take a whizzzzz i found out that it no longer would shift automatic,also i found some sort of fluids on the upper end of the front drive shaft and dont know if it came from tranny or transfer case or???... now if i am stopped i have to put it in 1 and overdrive off and shift 1,2,D(overdrive off),D(overdrive on). but the funny thing is that in the 2 last gears,when it shifts it will shift into a nuetral for a secound before it goes into next gear..... i finaly made it home last night, i didnt go to work today and i went to the store and when i first started it up cold it had the worst grinding niose i have ever heard.... it sounded like all the gears were out of mesh and jsut grindin away. so i checked fluids and they allseemed fine. the niosed stopped when i shifted in to park and drove it like a manual shift. then on my way back to the storew all my guages went dead..... ????please help??? its like my truck just went over the hill and is about to die.... i am just about to roll over to 70,000 i am at like 69,824 or so. i change oil frequently but the trannys never been serviced.... any help is great thanks

 

Well you need to get some holy water ,sprinkle a little on the hood and a little on the tailgate ! get your wallet out and replace your toasted tranny!
Nothing money can't fix
Make sure they flush out all the cooler lines or all the crap will go into your new tranny.
