Guys-
This has been driving me nuts,I bought a new waterpump a few months back and it has been leaking out of the lower hose flange where it joins at the water pump.I took it off today and the O ring seems fine (it should be its almost brand new) took the O ring off cleaned it as well as the mating surface
and put it back together and bang it is still leaking I don't think this is rocket science but am wondering if anyone has run into the same problem? there are no cracks or a bad surface from what I can see any info would be great
When mine started leaking the O-ring to replace it was the same as the thermostat. I tightened the bolts evenly and no leaks. Did the same thing when I replace my waterpump. Used the thermostat O-ring, instead of the rubber oring that came with it. and tightened evenly, no leaks. If that does not work, and it still leaks, if you can find it, is some stuff called Hylomar, it is for gaskets and o-rings to help them seal. I used it for the oring for the pump and the thermostat housing, and no leaks. Hopes this helps.
