I was wondering what the wire harness is for that comes out from the carpet underneath and center of the drivers seat which clips to a corresponding wire set that is also under the driverseat.
Seatbelt pretensioner. In an accident a small explosion locks up the seatbelt mechanism to keep you strapped in, assuming you were smart enough to use it.....it works trust me...
Yes, I saw this picture on another post a few months ago when this must of occured. Is this device only availabe for the driver?, because I do not see one under my passanger bucket seat.
It is a 1997 F-150 XLT S/C 4X4 4.6L Auto.
looks like the truck fared pretty well. How about you Triton_2002? how fast were you going?

Been off the boards for a while, so sorry for the late reply....
I was going around 40 mph and T-boned an other F-150 that failed to yield the right of way to ME. I just had a sore neck, bump on my knee and a bruise on my wrist from the airbag. My truck took 9k to fix and the other guy actually was able to drive his truck (80's F-150) home after the cops took the report.
No, I didn't pay a dime, the other guy's insurance paid since it was his fault. It wasn't worth fixing in my opinion, but I had no say in that. It was a lease, so I drove if for another year and traded it in.
