i have a 91 f350 7.3 when it sits over nite of if i park with the engine sitting up hill it seems like the fuel system bleeds down. i have replaced all the
rubber fuel lines on the fuel returns & the O rings on the injectors , anyone ever had this problem?
another ? i seem to recall hearing of a way to get rid of the fuel return system
that run's from each injector , anyone ever do this? tks in advance
Any wet spots at the oring or cap hose connections.. there is an air intrusion somewhere. Check the filter header too for wet spots.......park the truck nose down and problem will go away.
Never heard how you could remove returns, where is excess diesel fuel going to go. Can't just shut it off at the injector.
I had this problem, its cased by a bad check valve on the fuel filter head, i replaced the check valve, i think there is a tsb to disconect this return line
Do visit this site for good info............ http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/idi2.htm Check out filter header leaks if no visibles on the return system. Remember air will enter where diesel may not escape.
ok , is the check valve the one on the return hose ? between the vacuum switch & the fuel priming valve?
is that a standard valve core in the priming valve , ? the truck has @ 270K on it
should i replave both?
tks
there is a line that goes from the injector returns to the top of the fuel filter. remove it, and put a brass pipe plug it the filter, and plug up the line going to the return. this will solve your problem.
