Why is it running rich?
Can you give me any suggestions on the fuel problems I am having? F150 92 fuel injected. Running way too rich..and the oil seems to have a strong odor of fuel. When I start it, I get a nice spray out of the exhaust system..(black spots all over my white car that sits next to my truck in the driveway).I have changed the egr sensor, fuel filter and oxygen sensor..according to the computer codes...help!! Need detailed diagram of fuel system..any ideas on where to find that?
If the oil smells like fuel I would check the fuel pressure regulator.A quick check to see it is bad it the vacuum line on the regulator will have fuel in it.The regulator is on the driver side of the motor near the firewall. It should be on the line closet to the brake booster.
You could also have a injector that is leaking.I would pull the plugs and check them. The plug that looks brand new would be the one that is bad as the fuel would wash the plug clean.I would also check to see if you have no vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks (before the O2 sensor is critcal)as both would make the ECM dump more fuel than needed.I would start there before replacing anymore parts.

Thank you for your responses. I am headed to the truck now and will check those things. There was a vacuum leak that I fixed 2 days ago. I will be back to let you know what the plugs look like.
Thanks again
Sorry about the type color.

Check the computer codes (can use search function for "computer codes" to learn how) and see if there are any codes that the computer indicate as a problem. Also, check the fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. A Haynes or Chilton's manual would explain details on those procedures. Let us know how it goes
