I have a 1985 F-150 2wd, and I am hotrodding a 79 inline 6 for it. The motor I have in the 85 has a rear sump oil pan, but the 79 rebuild motor has a center sump design.
Will it fit with my crossmember? What could it have come out of, a van or something? Must I try and convert to rear sump pan of my 85? Is the oil pick up just routed differently, or are their fundamental design differences?
Just change oil pump pickup tube with the pan. I dont know what pan will work on your truck, ask in the correct year message board if you cant get an answer here.Good luck
