adding block heater

I have an 05 f-350 with the 6.0. It did not come with the block heater, and I would really would like to add one. Is this possible? Where can I buy one from? What is the best brand? What is involved in installing it? Anything else that could help me out would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kevin

I believe the block heater is already in place, all you have to do is purchase the electrical cord that attach's to it. I think International Harvester sells it for considerably less than Ford.

3/4er is correct. Block heater is already in place. Just need to install the cord.

Just get the chord for the heater. The heater is on every truck.

I live in Brockton Massachusetts and the block heater was not installed in my truck!!!! I was pissed! I had to have them order it after I took delivary of my truck. My salesman told me oh they all come with the block heaters installed standard. I asked him twice, then when my truck came in I got it home and was going to plug it in for the night I could not find the cord. The next day I called them up and they said you have to look hard it can be hard to find. I told them I did and the guy said bring it in we'll show you where it is. So I bring it down and two techs where looking and they said "huh" you don't have a block heater never mind a cord! I was pissed, the service manager came out and said oh the 05's dont have them come standard anymore it's now a option. Only in certain states like Maine and Colorado and North Dakota they come standard. I though "Hmm Massachusetts isn't a cold state in the winter time"!!!!!

Do not walk, but run to another dealer! All the 05 6.0's have the block heater installed, but the actual cord that runs from the block heater to the front of the truck is an option. All you need to do is buy the cord and install it.
