Ok. This is a bit of a weard question. Back in the sumer of 2001 I had my c6 rebuilt (had high hopes of getting the truck fixed up quickly, those hopes are long gone now). I went and picked it up and put it in the garage. It has been sitting uninstalled in the garage sence then and for the past 6 months or so it has been sitting outside in one of those protable tent garages. I also had the torque converter rebuilt but that is sittining in the basement.
My question is this. When I get around to putting the tranny into the truck will it still be good or will I be looking at another rebuild?
What needs rebuilding in a C6 is clutches and bushings. Having it sitting for an extended period of time isn't going to wear on either of these. So long as you have kept it covered so that water and dirt aren't getting in there you'll be good to go.
Thank you
Thats a bit of relief. Its ben covered, kinda, and has not had any fluid in it sence rebuild. I was hoping it didn't need rebuild and was just gonna throw it in when I got done with the truck and see how things went unless someone told me I shouldn't.
