So, I have a little over a gallon in my recovery pan, now what?
Where do I take it? I can't find anything locally that takes diesel, and I don't want to dump it in an oil bin.
Seriously...use it as weed killer. Not straight, but dilute it. We have used Kerosene and diesel as an insecticide as well. It acts as a bonding agent. Very effective. We got through much more than a gallon, but we have many trees. Im sure you can use it around the house. Maybe google some home recipes for insecticides of herbicides. Its not going to hurt anything. It is easily broken down by molds and some bacteria. That doesnt mean drain your fuel tank though.
send it to me ill put it in my tank and burn it up...fuel prices are killing us
I hear ya, but believe me, you don't want this gallon.
At over 3 bucks a gal, I'd love to reclaim it.
I ended up dumping it in an old kerosine lantern I had sitting around the garage. It burns nicely, makes a nice light at night and keeps the bugs away.

We use diesel mixed with 2,4,D and water for spot spraying any type of weeds you want to kill. Really does a trick on musk thistle. Even straight diesel will drop the hammer on most weeds. If you buy commercial 2,4,D it will give instructions for the amount of fuel oil to mix with it for taking care of brush and stumps. Like you point out, the diesel is a lot more environmentally friendly than a lot of the chemicals out there, as long as it isn't in open water.
Will it work on my Neighbor's Pine tree that is overhanging my yard and they refuse to cut down?
Try 5 pounds of table salt...wet it down...dead in short order . In fact, depending on the species of pine, you can just take a hose and let it saturate the ground around the tree. MOST species of pines cannot take saturated root zones beyond about one week.
