My wife and I just returned from spendig a week in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Much to my surprise, Ford does make a 4 full 4 door crew cab Ranger with a short bed. Why don't they offer this for sale in the US? My son had a bare bones 97 Ranger and wanted a four door version which we never saw here in the US. He almost bought a dodge or a chevy but I convinced him to get the Ecplorer Sports Trec. That was a close call! We have since learned the 4 door CC ranger is also sold in Canada.
The Crew Cab is sold in Canada? I didn't know that one, but Meheeco I did know about as well as the rest of the landmass looking south.
You would have to ask Ford why the Exploder Sport Trac is what the alternative offered here is. IF that had a diesel offering, I'd forget a CC Ranger, but that's not the case either....
Well I can reckon that the Exploder name makes more cash for Ford, that is all. The Ranger gets shafted in terms of everything...redesigns, options (A leather Ranger...heh. Not my thing, but still...), younameit.
Ok, screw this crap, I'm gonna visit mexico, and start importing crew cab rangers back to the US. lol at least minus an engine, then you can fit whatever the heck you wish in it.
I saw a bunch of the Crew Cab Rangers in South Texas last time I was there. They can drive them across but they have to remain registered in Mexico. The ones I saw had the diesel engine in them and were 4x4. From my understanding they do not/or are unable to meet the emission standards required in the US. Kinda hard to believe they cant do better than that but who am I say!
Yeah saw one way up in Dallas a month or so ago and about peed myself figuring I had missed something. I was like CC Ranger, now wait one minute I ain't seen that before. Did a double take, figured the guy was just really good with metal working and had done it himself.
Apparently not, good to know.
I saw an even stranger one. It was a crew cab duallie ranger. It looked kinda gay to me. It was in a mostly mexican neighborhood and mexicans are known for some odd ball customizing around here.
