i have a 1986 f250 diesel with a 6.9L with over 300,000 miles on it and i want to restore the truck replacing the engine and bed but i wanted to drop a new 6.0L powerstroke with the turbo in it.
will i need to change any engine mounts?
will i need a new transmission?
i have heard teh 6.0's have been having fuel injector should i still worry if i buy it brand new?
if it will work where can i buy a complete ready to drop in engine?
thanx for any help..

Reason: Remove problems n ****,
It would be a HUGE undertaking.. Not just the transmission and all mounts, but COMPLETE wiring modifications/installs for all the needed electronics/modules/sensors ect.. Also, radiator/intercooler, exhaust, and on and on.. Not to mention the fabrication needs in a conversion between so many years.. Would 'probably' be easier to buy a wrecked S/D 6.0 and mount your cab/bed onto the later build equipment.. Not an easy task either.. Its always 'possible' to be done, but the cost/labor would be extremley high, and an ardous task to complete.. A easier swap would be a turbo 7.3 IDI, or maybe even a 7.3 DI S/D engine for a 'larger' Powerstroke challenge, but more realistic than a 6.0.. Cheaper too.. We had an employee here years ago convert his 76 F250 from a 360 4spd to a Perkins 6/turbo with an Allison auto.. Actually started off his conversion with a Detroit Diesel, and was replaced later with the Perkins.. Ahead of his time, AND Fords.. All worked well, but even with the primitive engineering/build of its era, was a very large job..
A diesel engine in a Ford pickup.. Who'd uh thunk!!!
