Anbody used one of the kits from Painless Wiring? I wiring is hammered ( good ole lamp cord donated from previious owner). Was wanting to buy one of the kits and just wanted to see folks opinions on how good they are.
Used the universal 18 circuit for my 67 F250. It works very good but being the electrical dummy I am it took me while to get it all done. I figure if I could do it anyone can.
I saw the add in HR and ordered one, it must have been in April or May. It was backorderd. The first response was it would be ready in June, June came and went then they said it would be around September. Its still not available. It seemed to me they hadn't built one yet nor was it designed. Kind of irritating since they were advertizing it was available. I finally ordered the universal 18 circuit. That had the power windows, door locks, ac, cruise control, etc., everything you'd ever want to upgrade to. It worked out very nicely but I'm still irritated they pulled that BS about the specific kit for 67 to 79 Ford trucks.
I have installed 2 of them so far. Both 18 circuit. They are really good and reasonably easily to install if you have a basic working knowledge about automotive wiring. Their tech help department is very knowledgeable and helpful also. Painless has just come out with the harness for the Ford trucks according to their web site.
