So how would it be any different if both of those guys showed up at the dealership. The first guy closes the deal, then in the parking lot, signs the car over to the second guy?
well, i see a very easy way for you to get even with this scum of the earth bottom feeder. just keep telling him that there was some kind of problem, and that the car will be in next week...... for the next 6 months. he will get a black mark on his ebay feedback for failure to deliver, and have to refund the money to the auction winner.
They picked up the car late this morning...

Nothing. Zero investment, and this guy walks off with a grand. Only in America!
That's like scalping concert tickets without the overhead. Then again, he used guerilla tactics to be a personal shopper. I guess if he would have been up front and just sold his place in line, without the discount, that would be one thing. This is selling something he doesn't own. Be nice to see how he worded the auction though.
Showed a lot of integrity on the dealerships part.
(BTW Ernie, what kind of deal can we do on a couple GTs, maybe two vettes and oh yea, one of those fast caddies? I just need a couple weeks notice before delivery and if you could email me some promo pics, that would be great.)
Personally, I fail to see how him ebaying "his place in line" is any different than most Ford dealerships who are "scalping" Mustang GTs or ANY OTHER popular car/truck for thousands above MSRP...
I realize MSRP is just that...manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price...and this IS America...the most capitalistic country on the planet (as far as I know), but somehow, it just doesn't seem right.
BTW...isn't a deposit usually required when ordering a new vehicle? Perhaps a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit would put the brakes on a few of these antics...but, then again, I'm sure these scammers would figure that into their profit margin.

Would a Z06 work? We got our first one in Saturday, with the customer (and someone else) following the convoy carrier into the dealership. We sold all of ours for sticker, but there'll be books written about Z06 gyrations around the country- the stories I'm hearing are just plain goofy.
Damn you Polar. I wonder how many Aussie Pesos would be required to get one of them here in RHD...
Then I pinch myself. Or more to the point, my Insurance broker does.
